Last week, we had the honor of being the official photographers for the 2nd annual Focus On Lyme scientific conference. The conference and gala were held at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn. Most of the attendees who were visiting from the east coast were surprised by the cold weather in Scottsdale due to our recent rain. One gentleman told me that it was currently warmer at his house in Connecticut! Still, the Camelback Inn provided a beautiful setting for the outdoor receptions on Thursday and Friday evenings.

During the conference, we had the opportunity to photograph several well-known doctors, scientists, and supporters of Lyme research. One of the speakers was Ally Hilfiger, who just released a book about her fight against Lyme disease. The theme for this year's conference was "Wave of Change". Prior to the Friday evening gala, guests had the opportunity to try their skills on a mechanical surfboard. We had fun capturing the brave souls who took the challenge!

The beautifully decorated gala featured more inspirational stories and amazing entertainment. Scott Keo is becoming one of my favorite local artists. If you haven't heard his Michael Buble covers, look him up on YouTube right this instant! Well, maybe after you finish reading this blog. :)

The live auction is always a fun and energetic event. This year, they even auctioned off a puppy! (If I had the money, I maybe would have jumped in on that one. It was SO adorable!) Over the course of the night, thousands of dollars were donated to Lyme research, thanks to this amazing organization.
